Pray for Your Enemies [an alternative to Kony2012]

For those who are (or aren’t) part of the 75 million people who have watched the Kony2012 videos, here’s an alternative, Christ-centered response from those who are firsthand witnesses of the LRA’s violence in Congo and Sudan. How about rather than a 2012 campaign to make a war criminal famous and see Kony come to justice, we have a 2012 campaign to make Jesus famous and see Kony come to salvation? Little children get it. Children who have witnessed horrific atrocities have found healing in Jesus and are praying for their enemies to be saved… and God is answering. Lets join them!

Six months later after the initial attack near our compound, the LRA again returned less than ten miles from us. Unbeknownst to me, our children had decided enough was enough. They began to call early morning meetings in their houses. Getting up at 5 am, they worshiped and prayed, pouring their hearts out in prayer… that the LRA in the area would walk into to local police stations and turn themselves in; that they would tire of killing and want to stop; that the police would be merciful to them and help them; that the surrendered rebels would be restored and reunited with their families and come to know the love of God.

Three days later, a group of ten LRA members walked into our local police station of their own accord and turned themselves in. From the accounts we heard, they basically said, “We are tired of killing people and stealing, can you help us?” …Over the next six weeks, our children prayed each morning. Forty-seven more LRA rebels turned themselves into area police headquarters all around us. And just as our children prayed, many were able to be reunited with their families and repatriated back to their communities. This does not happen. Not at all. But in the kingdom of God, the prayers of one small child are enough to stop one of the most feared rebel movements on the planet.

What might He do in response to 50 million people pausing their clicking for prayer?

God Is Good in Any Language

For those who have ever wondered if God is really directing when you pray in the Spirit, check out this testimony. Amazing what God can do when we just sit down and let Him guide our prayers… with or without our knowledge.

On February 25, 2012, while the Healing Rooms worship team was ministering, Carrie Grosch started singing in Hebrew and then going into tongues and the djembe player, who has spent time in Tibet, noticed that she was singing in the Tibetan nomad style of singing, which definitely has a very distinct sound. Then he noticed that she was repeating the Tibetan word for “good,” over and over! What’s more, there were people all over the world who had set aside that very day to pray for the Tibetan people to have a revelation of God’s goodness.

Cancer Healed [and Missionary Called]

Awesome testimony. Especially to me, because I’ve met her since this happened. Dawn was on my outreach team in Mozambique. She’s totally healed, radically saved and deeply in love with Jesus. And she’s now giving her life as a long-term missionary in Mozambique.

Bob and Sharen Muller’s daughter, Dawn, was dying from cancer that had spread throughout her entire body cavity. It was ongoing for 12 years, and she was given very little time to live. Dawn indicated to her parents that she wanted to go to the Healing Rooms in Redding, California. They arrived on Friday, April 15, 2011. Joaquin Evans was the speaker at that night’s service. His word of knowledge was that there was somebody in the sanctuary with cancer, and that all the pain would leave their body. Immediately, the pain in her body left. She went up to the front of the church. He lifted his hand, and she fell to the ground. She knew it was God, and all previous skepticism left her.

She was afraid God’s presence would be gone on Saturday morning, but it wasn’t. She went to the Healing Rooms because the skepticism had returned. She had a mini-Sozo, and she felt “all the holes in her soul had healed.” At the Sunday service, a person (they don’t know who) asked people to volunteer to serve in Africa. After being totally healed of cancer, she left in September.

NOTE: she was restored of the colon that had been removed because of the cancer, and she no longer has the exterior scar tissue from the surgery.

Abolitionists Arise [God’s Answer to Human Trafficking]

Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing, most outrageous injustices of our day. But God is not silent. More and more Christian response is rising up from different groups across the nation and the world. The Sex+Money film is an awareness effort by a group of young believers, touring all 50 states with a documentary on human trafficking and its roots. This update on the resulting changed lives and favor, even with the FBI, is very encouraging.

As we have been traveling across the 50 states, the Sex+Money film tour has been witnessing history in the making. Through our film, God has been raising up modern abolitionists all across the nation with one thing in mind: FREEDOM…

More amazing stories of what God is doing among the least of these in Mozambique. And the best part is I was first-hand witness to many of these stories. The outreach in the photos and stories was the group I went with to Chiure. You may even be able to spot me in some of the photos. God is awesome and moving in awesome ways!
